P-Track is provided by Classybits L. L. C. This policy explains how P-Track for iPhone and iPad, and its paired Apple Watch companion, use information to display satellite positions, calculate local visibility, and manage subscriptions.
Location
If you allow location access, P-Track uses your location while the app is in use to position your observer on the globe and calculate satellite visibility and passes. These calculations run on your device. Orbital calculations do not send your observer coordinates to the orbital data service or RevenueCat. When Cloud cover in notifications is enabled, P-Track sends approximate observing coordinates, truncated to a 0.05-degree grid (roughly 5 km north/south), to its authenticated weather API. Our API requests forecasts from MET Norway. Exact saved coordinates and place names are not sent to MET Norway. The weather provider sees our server connection, not your device IP address or installation identifier. Forecasts are retained in a bounded cache on your device and our server, keyed by approximate grid location. You can stop forecast requests and remove weather from queued reminders by turning off Cloud cover in notifications in Pass reminders. This leaves satellite reminders enabled. When you tap your location to find a nearby town, the app sends coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service. You can change location permission in iOS Settings.
Saved observing places and reminders
P-Track stores saved observing places, their coordinates and time zones, favorites, pass forecasts, and reminder rules locally on your device. A saved place is a fixed observing spot, not continuous tracking of your movement. Pass predictions and notification schedules are calculated on the device. If you enable reminders, P-Track requests notification permission and schedules local notifications through iOS. It does not use a remote push-notification service for pass reminders. You can disable or delete reminders in the app, and manage notification permission in iOS Settings.
Sky Finder camera and direction
Sky Finder can display a virtual sky without camera access. If you choose to use the camera, the app requests permission and displays a camera preview with an approximate satellite overlay. P-Track does not record, save or upload these camera frames. Motion and compass readings are processed on your device to estimate pointing direction. You can turn the camera off in Sky Finder or change camera permission in iOS Settings.
Widgets and Live Activities
P-Track shares a local snapshot of selected satellite and pass information with its widget extension using an on-device app group. Widgets and Live Activities may display satellite names, observing-place information and pass times on your Home Screen or Lock Screen according to your iOS settings. They do not require a P-Track account or a remote activity-update service. You control their visibility through iOS.
Paired Apple Watch
If you use the Apple Watch companion, P-Track sends a bounded snapshot of upcoming passes, the selected place name, direction guidance, available cloud forecasts and reminder states to your paired Watch using Apple WatchConnectivity. The Watch can request reminder changes from the iPhone. This transfer does not include precise coordinates, API credentials or payment details. The Watch and its complications keep a local copy for offline display and show when it is stale. The companion requires a paired iPhone running P-Track.
Subscriptions
Apple processes subscription payments. P-Track uses RevenueCat to validate subscription access and restore purchases. RevenueCat processes transaction and subscription information associated with an anonymous app-user identifier, along with technical information needed to provide that service. Purchase information also supports subscription analytics in RevenueCat, such as aggregate revenue and subscription activity. P-Track does not receive your payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy policy and RevenueCat’s privacy policy for their practices.
App integrity and secure access
P-Track uses Apple App Attest to help our data service verify that requests come from a genuine installation of the app. Your device creates an installation-specific cryptographic key. Apple processes an attestation request, and our service verifies the resulting attestation and later signed assertions. The private key remains on your device.
Our service processes the installation's key identifier, public key, attestation or assertion, and short-lived authentication challenges. We retain an installation-key identifier and assertion counter to prevent previously used authentication messages from being accepted again. We also temporarily retain hashes of used challenges until their validity window has passed. Signed access tokens contain the installation's public key and authentication metadata. These records are used for authentication, abuse prevention and service security, not advertising tracking. They are not joined to your RevenueCat purchase identifier by the P-Track data service.
Deleting the app does not automatically delete the server's anti-replay records. Installation-key counters currently have no scheduled expiration. Contact support@ptrackapp.com with questions about these records or deletion; we may need to verify which installation a request concerns and retain records needed to prevent replay or abuse. Do not send private keys, access tokens or payment details.
Data downloads and local storage
P-Track downloads satellite and ionospheric data, including CelesTrak orbital data and CODE/University of Bern ionosphere maps. Older versions used NOAA ionosphere data. Network services receive connection information such as your IP address when your device requests this data. The app stores preferences and a bounded cache of downloaded data on your phone so recent data can remain available during a service outage. The app identifies when cached data is being used.
The P-Track data service is configured without request/access logging. Operational errors may be retained in system logs. Website hosting, network providers, Apple, and RevenueCat may maintain their own operational or transaction records. We have not established a single fixed maximum retention period for all service-provider logs. Local downloaded data is periodically pruned; preferences remain until reset or the app is removed. Subscription records may persist to provide access and restore purchases, and records may also be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Contact us to request information about retention or deletion of information associated with you.
Your choices
P-Track does not require a separate app account and does not use advertising tracking in the app. You may manage location, camera and notification access in iOS Settings, edit or delete saved places and reminders in the app, remove the app and its local data, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Contact
Email support@ptrackapp.com. Contact us with privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information associated with your use of P-Track. We may need information to identify the relevant record and verify the request. Apple purchase records and subscription cancellation are managed through your Apple account. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.
